Primavalle | Rome, Italy
The cycling center in Primavalle serves as a dynamic link between students, the local community, and the broader urban fabric. Designed to promote exercise, wellness, and exploration, the center offers spaces for biking enthusiasts and newcomers alike to repair, park, and embark on eco-friendly journeys. Its integration into the park’s masterplan provides not only practical utility but also a platform for connection and activity.
The outdoor seating and deck view encourage relaxation and community engagement, creating a setting where people can gather, work, or recharge. By promoting sustainable transit and active lifestyles, the center enhances Primavalle’s vision of a healthier, more connected neighborhood.

This photo collage envisions a renewed urban park in Primavalle, addressing its current state of neglect while celebrating its potential for transformation. The site, described as lost, reflects abandonment but holds the promise to become a vibrant community center. Its legacy—woven into aimless pathways and forgotten stories—invites acknowledgment through design interventions that preserve history. A promising future emerges by activating the park with spaces for gathering, biking, and cultural engagement, fostering social unity. By setting the conditions for change, the design empowers the community, creating an adaptable, inclusive landscape that reconnects people to the park's history and redefines its purpose.

The building was designed as an integral part of the Green Line bike and walk lane, seamlessly connecting pathways and enhancing the park’s accessibility. Its open design encourages cyclists and pedestrians to flow naturally through its spaces, including repair stations and seating areas. With its corten steel roof and integration into the landscape, the structure serves as both a waypoint and a welcoming destination for active transit and community gathering.
