flaunt
Chelsea Quad| New York, New York
The Chelsea Quad hotel room design centers around the concept of “Flaunt,” reflecting a bold and dynamic approach to contemporary hospitality. Drawing inspiration from New York City’s urban landscape, the design contrasts the harsh concrete surroundings with vibrant materials and textures that capture the city’s energetic character. The room’s color palette, chosen for its boldness and harmony, complements the varied textures used throughout, creating a visually engaging yet comfortable environment.
Every detail, from the angular lines of the furniture to the subtle curves in the filleted corners, is intentionally designed to make a statement while maintaining a balance of form and function. This design approach not only aligns with the Moxy brand’s youthful energy but also enhances the guest experience by offering a lively and immersive space within the constraints of a small hotel room.

The room’s design begins with a balance of functional and aesthetic elements. On the left, vertical slatted wood panels and framed artworks add texture and visual interest, while a mounted television enhances the room's practicality. On the right, built-in shelves are thoughtfully integrated to maximize storage, maintaining a clean and organized look. These shelves complement the bunk bed, which features ladders and curtains to ensure privacy. A standout feature, the Murphy bed, folds seamlessly into the wall when not in use, allowing for more space. This multifunctional design element enhances the room’s flexibility, offering an efficient, modern layout without compromising the overall aesthetic.

The bathroom design combines industrial materials to create a sleek, modern aesthetic. Dark gray brick tiles provide a textured backdrop, while lighter gray tiles add contrast. The shower features a black showerhead and a glass enclosure with metal framing. A white rectangular sink with stainless steel fixtures and a black-framed mirror with exposed bulb lighting enhance the industrial vibe. White shelves with metal brackets store essentials, and the marble-like toilet finish complements the material palette, creating a cohesive and striking space.
